By hikers, for hikers
Dress for the hike you are actually doing.
Every piece here is chosen for one specific kind of day. We tell you which day, and why you would take it over the thing next to it.
The whole range
Pick the layer you are missing.
Nine shelves, and on each one no two products doing the same job.
Five questions
Not sure what you
are actually missing?
Answer five short questions and you get a checklist: what you need, what a good one of those does, and the piece itself — photo, size and into your basket, without leaving this page.
Two minutes, five questions
Most people are missing one layer. Find out which.
Getting cold, soaked or clammy usually comes down to a single gap in what you own — and it is almost never the jacket.
- A checklist of what your system still needs
- What a good version of each layer does
- What to skip, so you do not buy twice
- Size and colour, straight into your basket

What you do not need
This belongs in the answer too. We would rather sell you nothing than the wrong thing.
Start here
What do you need today?
Four kinds of winter day. Pick the one closest to yours and the page tells you what goes on, what stays in the pack, and why.
Cold and dry
BaseMidShellLegsFeetHeat
Walk warm, arrive dry
Walking keeps you warm, so the job is getting the sweat out. The shell stays in the pack until the wind finds you.
What you wear
Base layer, mid layer, trousers and socks. The shell goes in the pack.
Start at the base layer →
Cold and windy
BaseMidShellLegsFeetHeat
Stop the wind at the shell
Wind goes straight through a fleece. Same layers as a still day, but now the shell goes on.
What you wear
The same four, with the shell on from the start.
Add the shell →
Cold and wet
BaseMidShellLegs+Feet+Heat
Close the two gaps water uses
Same layers, plus the waterproof over the trousers and the boots. It gets in at whichever one you skipped, and it is never the jacket.
What you wear
All five, plus a waterproof over the trousers and over the boots.
See the Weather Kit →
Cold and barely moving
BaseMidShellLegsFeetHeat
Bring heat, do not just keep it
Short walk, long stops. There is nothing for your layers to trap, so the warmth has to come from somewhere else.
What you wear
Everything on, plus one layer that makes heat instead of holding it.
Add powered heat →
How it works
Three thin layers beat one thick one
Each layer has one job. Sweat moves out through all three, wind and rain stop at the outside. Miss one and the other two cannot do theirs.
01
Moves the sweat
The base layer, cut close so it carries moisture off the skin before it cools there. A damp base layer is what makes you cold on the first stop.
02
Holds the warmth
The mid layer. The only one that is actually warm, and the one people get wrong by buying something with no way to vent it on a climb.
03
Stops the weather
The shell. Wind and rain out, and the sweat the other two moved still able to get away.
Leave one out and the other two stop working.

Rather not make
six decisions?
The same products as their own pages, sized to work together and priced under the sum of the parts.
Why we exist
Nobody tells you what any of it is actually for.
A hike should be an adventure. Nothing ruins one faster than the wrong layers, the wrong clothing or the wrong kit.
Most winter kit is priced for the label on it, and out on the trail nobody had thought about what it actually has to do. Warm in the shop, useless on a climb.
So we built the alternative. Not the widest range. The one where every piece has a reason to be there, and we say what that reason is.
We say what it is for
Every page opens with the kind of day it was chosen for, and why you would take it over the one next to it.
We say when not to buy
Powered heat is for standing still, not for a fast walk. If it is wrong for you we would rather lose the sale.
We publish the numbers
Where a figure exists it is on the page. Where it does not, the page says so instead of filling the gap with an adjective.
Nothing overlaps
Every product in a category does something the others cannot. Nothing here is padding.
Why buy from us
Three reasons,
and that is all of them.
You will not buy the wrong thing
Every product says which day it is for, and which day it is wrong for. We would rather lose the sale than sell you powered heat for a fast walk.
Shipping is free, always
Both zones, no minimum order and no threshold to chase. What the page says is what you pay.
You pay for the product, not the badge
No brand tax. The price reflects what the garment does and what it costs to make properly.
